The Black Creek Trails at Noccalulla Falls Park & Campground are a system of multi-use trails in North Alabama. They have recently been expanded to offer over twelve miles of fun, and I’m on a mission to hike each loop. This walk is the second trek in the series. Read about the Cascade Loop by clicking here.
Family Loop - Green Blaze/Signs Marked "FL"
The trailhead for the system is located on the far side of the Noccalulla Falls Campground directly across from the cabins.
Enter the trail and cross the bridge over Cascade Creek. At the end of the paved portion, you will see a spot to go right.
Do so now and make a left at the first trail intersection. You are now on the Family Loop. Continue on the path and bear left at any trail intersections.
This loop is perfect for families with small children. Only .6 mile with an elevation change of 135 this also makes an excellent circuit for anyone wanting to try their hand at mountain biking.
The distance is measured after you cross Cascade Creek bridge. Add about .5 miles each way to and from the parking lot. So plan accordingly.
See you on the trails!
