The Black Creek Trails at Noccalulla Falls Park & Campground are a system of multi-use trails in North Alabama. They have recently been expanded to offer over twelve miles of fun, and I’m on a mission to hike each loop.
Cascade Loop - Purple Blaze/Signage Marked With a “C”
The trailhead for the system is located on the far side of the Noccalulla Falls Campground directly across from the cabins.
Enter the trail and cross the bridge over Cascade Creek. At the end of the paved portion, you will see a spot to go right.
Do so now and make then another right at the first path you come to finding yourself on the Cascade Loop.
This family-friendly loop follows Cascade Creek on your right for the first half of the trek. There are several stops at mini-waterfalls along the way. Enjoy a snack and listen to the water gurgling as it cascades down the creek.
The trail will eventually turn back to the left and away from the creek heading through some pines. Follow along and bear left at the intersection with the Family Loop (FL - Green) to lead you back to your starting point.
This loop is 1.4 miles with 159 feet of elevation gain measured after you cross Cascade Creek bridge. Add about .5 miles each way to and from the parking lot. So plan accordingly.
See you on the trails!
