The temps are cooling down and now is the time to ramp up your outdoor adventure. Fall is the perfect season to enjoy the great outdoors in the Greater Gadsden area. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
ONE: Hike into the gorge and view Noccalula Falls from a different perspective. Enter through the park if you'd like to walk down the paved path towards the Falls. When the pavement ends you will have to hike along a rocky path to reach the Falls but it's well worth it and fairly easy to navigate.
TWO: Tee it up at Twin Bridges. This course winds along the Coosa River offering some stunning views. Golfers and nature lovers will be delighted. Four sets of tees offer something for every skill level. Nice clubhouse with a bar and grill.
THREE: Do some mountain biking on the Black Creek Trail system. The Black Creek Trail system is adjacent to Noccalula Falls Park and offers a little over twelve miles of trails for mountain bike enthusiasts as well as hikers. FOUR: Take a walk on the wild side at Tigers for Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain. This 140 acre nature preserve houses over 160 animals including tigers, mountain lions, bears, black leopards, and more. Admission charged and hours vary.
FIVE: Go rock climbing or hiking at Hospital Boulders home of the Hospital Boulders Sickness Comp climbing competition. This property was acquired by the Southeastern Climbers Coalition but they allow access to all. Follow the link for access information and driving directions.
